Project Idea

The kindergarten students have been out of school for a week now! YIKES! I miss them like crazy. It's strange to go from seeing these kids every day to not seeing them at all.

Remember when your Flat Person was mailed home to you. I hope you still have your Flat Person. Our Flat People were inspired by Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley has a bunch of books. Click here to see the books on Amazon. There are even a few Flat Stanley books at the Sweet Home Library, I searched by author.

Here are some ideas......
1. Make another Flat Person, if you lost yours. Click here to get the flat person outline.

2. Make a whole Flat Family (use link on number 1)

3. Take your Flat Person on an adventure and write about it. This is my favorite writing paper, we used it in class. This one has the lines horizontal.     This one has the lines vertical.

4. Mail a Flat Person to a friend, have them photograph the Flat Person at their house. Your friend would then mail the Flat Person and the pictures back to you.

5. Make up a story about an adventure you want to go on with your Flat Person. (use links on number 3)

6. Take a photo of you and your flat person, mail it to Miss Thompson and she will add it to the website. Let's see what all the kids and flat people are doing!!

***As of now my school email still works. **

The kids also loved watching "How it is made" movies. There are tons of short clips on youtube. They are great for the end of snack before recess. Or on those rainy days.

Tomorrow's Hike

I'm so excited about our hike tomorrow. It is going to be fun. The trail is almost mud free. There are two or three muddy spots but tennis shoes are perfect. No need for rain boots, unless we have a drastic change in weather.

The weather report for tomorrow:

Keep in mind that the trail is mostly in the shade. So the morning class may want long sleeves or a sweatshirt.

The trail we are taking is just over a mile. We will cross three wooden bridges and see three waterfalls. We will also hike along the creek for most of the trail.

If you want to come with us, that is still an option. Just show up and come! There is more room on the bus, don't worry about that. Remember if you want to chaperone you must have a volunteer form on file with the school. Almost everyone already has one. If you don't please print this form, fill it out and bring it to the office tomorrow. We will make sure that you can join us!

Afternoon class - I still NEED more parents from the afternoon class. If I do not get enough parents we may have to do a modified trip! This is very important. If you are able to come please come!
