Look for a blue sheet of paper in Friday Folders this week. It has the results of our winter testing. I tried to make it easy to understand. If you have any questions at all please call. I am happy to answer questions and help you understand. Please feel free to call or email.
Your blue sheet of paper will be filled out with your child's scores. Below is a blank copy!

Letter Naming Fluency:
This is a one-minute test. Students are given a sheet with capital
letters and lower case letters all mixed up (Not ABC order). They are asked to
name as many letters as they can in one-minute. If they take more then three
seconds to answer, the answer is given to them and they move on to the next
one.
First Sound Fluency:
What is the first sound you hear in a word? For example what
is the first sound you hear in street? If a student says /s/, they get 2
points. If they say /st/, /str/, or /strea/ they would get 1 point. This is a
one-minute test. The score represents
their total score.
Phoneme Segmentation
Fluency:
What are all the sounds you hear in a word? For example what
are all the sounds you hear in sat.
If a student replies /s/
/a/ /t/ they would get all 3 points. If a student just replied /s/ (the first
sound) they would get 1 point. This is a one-minute test. The score represents their total score.
Nonsense Word Fluency
The student gets a sheet of made up words. They are asked to say the sound each
letter makes or read the whole word, by blending the sounds together. For
example, "vaj" the student could say /v/ /a/ /j/ or say the word
/vaj/ to obtain a total of three letter-sounds correct. This is a one-minute test. The score
represents the total letter sounds correctly produced.
