Hello Families,
Our letter for the week was Yy.
When you say Yy your tongue is behind your lower teeth and your mouth is open.
We have been zooming through the alphabet. The only letters we have left are;
k, v, x, and q. The students should know all the letter names and almost all
the sounds.
To go with our letter Yy this week
we learned the sight word YOU!
The transition back into school was
a tough one this week. We hardly went to school in March with conferences, snow
days and spring break. During groups, students have been spelling nonsense
words, which is hard work. They have been working on numbers during math time!
I’m so proud of them.
There has been some confusion about
which little books are yours to keep and which ones come back to school. If the
book has your child’s name written on it, then it is yours to keep. If it says
“please return” then please return it when you are done with it.
The
carnival is coming. MAY 4th from 5:00 – 7:00, Please plan on
attending. Thank you to all the families who signed up to bring something for
the Garden or Pasta basket. Reminder notes are in Friday Folders. Thanks to all
the families who have already brought in their items. Thanks!!
Homework.
The back of name homework has sight words. Have your child read these words in
addition to writing them! Thanks
Spring
Pictures – there is an information sheet in the envelope. Please either send
money back to school to purchase the photos OR send the photos back to school.
Field
Trip – I am working to reschedule the fish hatchery trip, or replace it. No
firm plans as of yet. Check future Friday Folders.
Thanks
