Friday
Friday we will be riding a school bus to the high school for the Jog-a-thon. Parents who are volunteering are welcome to ride with us.
We watched Winnie The Pooh's School Bus Safety Adventure two weeks ago about bus safety. If you would like to watch it you can. If you want to watch it with your child I am sure they would be happy to watch again. The quality is not the greatest, it is an old video but the content is good.

Monday!!!
Today was a great day! We had lots of fun. We worked on the word I. We have been looking for that word in books. We read a small paper book with the word I. This book will come home in Friday Folders.
We visited the library today. We read Harold and the Purple Crayon and we also read Dear Dragon's Color,123 The kids liked these books. If you have books about colors they would make great bed time stories this week.

Would you like to volunteer in our classroom? We would love

come 45 minutes early to pick up your child at the end of their school day.
Please fill out the form below and on the back of this
sheet of paper. All family members are welcome to volunteer, parents,
grandparents, aunts or uncles. Once you fill out this sheet I will send home a
background check to be filled out and processed with the office per district

There are no special talents needed to be a volunteer,
sometimes I just need someone to listen to a student read or help cut out
shapes.

Playground rules
We are learning the playground rules. The big rule is being
safe!! Some students are having a difficult time with the playground rules.
Some of the ones that we need to remember are:
1.
We swing on our bottoms
2.
We slide down the slide on our bottoms
3.
The rocks stay on the ground
4.
We don’t touch our friends
Maybe you could chat about these things over the weekend!
Friday Folders
Friday folders are coming! Look for them in your child’s
backpack. It took me a lot of time to stuff all the Friday Folders. One of the
papers is about volunteers, if you want to be the Friday Folder parent please
fill out the form. There are numerous ways that you can volunteer.

Kindergarten Update
Both groups of students had a fabulous first few days of school. It was so much fun to meet all the students.
Monday is the first day that all the students will be together. Yea! We will be starting our study on colors and shapes. I'm really excited about it. The first day, Monday is red circle. (I will try to post them all for you, but no promises!)
Morning Families - You may continue to bring your student to the door. Pick up will happen in the front lobby. I will walk the kids down to the lobby to meet you. This will help keep the noise in the hallways down so the big kids can keep learning.
Afternoon Families - I (or Mrs. Hummer) will meet you in the lobby. The students who ride the bus will also meet us here. Please wait until one of us comes to get the kids before going down to the kindergarten room. Because our room is located so close to the lunch room we can cause traffic jams. First Days!!
We had a wonderful first few days of school. We read several stories. We read "The Kissing Hand" "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" and "Mrs. Bindergarten gets ready for Kindergarten" Click on the title of the book to be taken to the amazon website for the book. Ask your children if they remember reading these books. This would be a great dinner time conversation.
We spent some time on the playground! The kids seem to really enjoy being outside. The weather has been nice. The students learned some of the school rules for the playground.
I am so excited to meet the rest of the students on Thursday/Friday! And then all of our friends will be here on Monday!!!
